INDIANS WIN WITH EASE SOUTH TARANAKI BEATEN BY FIVE GOALS {FBESS ASSOCIATIO* TKXOBASt.) ■ HAWERA, June 23. Displaying all-round superiority, the touring Indian hockey team beat a team representative of South Taranaki at Hawera by 6 goals to 1. The Taranaki team was on the defensive for most of the time, the individual players in the main being unable to cope with the tricky stick-work and positional play of the tourists. For India Fernandez scored four goals and Feroze Khan two. The Taranaki goal came off the stick of an Indian forward, while he was attempting to clear. The match was played at a fast pace. The home eleven did better in the first half than after the interval, but the impression v/as that the visitors scored just as many goals as they desired.
