The Italian Foreign Minister (Count Ciano) is reported to have indicated to the British Ambassador (the Earl of Perth) that Italy would welcome a modification of the clause in the British-Italian pact preventing its implementation until the cepfcthat of withdrawal from Spain says the Rome correspondent of the “Sunday Times.” Count Ciano in explaining that Italy had fulfilled all the clauses except that of withdraawl from Spain, cointended that Italy was not responsible for the fact that Spain remains an obstacle.
