RIGHT-HAND TRAFFIC RULE

EXPOSITION IN SUPREME COURT ON APPEAL (PRESS ASSOCUTIOK TXLXOBAU.) AUCKLAND, June 17. A judgment of interest to motorists was issued to-day by Mr Justice Callan on the subject of the right-hand rule. The judgment was given after an appeal in the Supreme Court to upset the decision of the Magistrate in the lower Court who awarded damages to. a motorist Involved in a collision with the defendant motorist. His Honour said that motorists at an intersection should first give attention to traffic on the right and ahead before any coming from the left “There would be cases where the attention of a motorist is so absorbed in the traffic from the right that his protection on the left must consist largely in trusting that the traffic on the left will perform the duty it owes to him.” The appeal was dismissed.
