THE REV. L. M’MASTER AT LEESTON After his induction as minister of the Leeston Presbyterian charge at a service held in the Leeston Church, the Rev. L. McMaster was entertained at a welcome social in the Town Hall, with Mrs McMaster. ' The speakers included the Rev. James Robertson (Moderator of the Christchurch Presbytery), Mr John Boag (congregations of the parish), the Revs. E. Horne (Anglican):, and S. Bailey (Methodist), Captain Allott (Salvation Army), the Rev T. W. Armour (Christchurch), Mrs W. Martin (women’s organisations), Mr B. Brown (chairman of Town Board), and the Rev. R. R. Adair. From the congregations at Leeston, Brookside, and Killinchy, Mr A. H. Reid presented the Rev. R. R. Adair with a cheque, in appreciation of his services as Moderator during the vacancy. , „ Musical items were given by Mesdames R. Harris and Dallison, Miss Paul, and Mr Cormack. MALVERN DOG TRIALS RESULT OF HUNTAWAY CLASS The Malvern Collie Club’s annual trials were concluded on Saturday, when the huntaway class was decided. The work was exceptionally good, 18 dogs completing the course and a number just failing to do so The following are the results:— CLASS Hl—Huntaway, with Slew. About 500 yards.
