VETERANS' ASSOCIATION
ANNUAL REUNION HELD . South African War veterans, former men of the Imperial Army, and representatives of the New Zealand and Australian Expeditionary Forces, were present on Saturday evening at the annual reunion of the Veterans’ Association. Among the guests were Colonel P. H. Bell, Officer Commanding the Southern Military District, the Mayor (Mr R. M. Macfarlane), and Canon A. H. Norris, chaplain to the association. The president, Mr W. A. Beck, was in the chair. The following toasts were honoured: The King”; "Navy, Army, and Air Force,” proposed by Canon Norris and replied to by Colonel Bell; “The Mayor, City’Council, and Local Bodies,” proposed by Mr A. H. Scales and replied to by the Mayor; “Kindred Associations,” proposed by Mr W. L. Glanville;“Nursing Sisters,” proposed by Mr P, H. Harris and replied to by Mr .A. H. Joseph; "The Horse,” proposed by Captain J. G. Salt: and “Performers,” proposed by Mr G. N. Cresswell.
