Sir,—ln answer to Mr Galbraith, who states it is the custom of residents to look after the footpaths in front of their properties; what redress have the residents of Worcester street got against the Municipal Electricity Department or City Council employees throwing soil against their newlypainted fences. Have we the power to stop them from doing it? I think it. is a disgrace to any department, i wish our chairman of works could find a little time to give Worcester street a look over. It is weeks since this work was done and the results remain. —Yours, etc.. April 5, 1938.' DISGUSTED. [The City Engineer, Mr A.
