CHILDREN IN JAPAN
Kite-flying used to be one of the most popular spring pastimes for town and country children in Japan, but now more modern playthings have taken the place of the kite. Otedama—or the bean bag—is still a popular game with young girls. They play it singly or m pairs.
Late spring arid early summer are the happiest seasons for Japanese school children, -for annual educational tours usually take place during this time. Such ancient cities as Kyoto and Nara, where there are many places of historical interest to be found, are frequent choices for excursions. \ NOTICES Readers are invited to send questions on' any subjects of interest to be answered in these columns.
