AGREEMENT ON HOURS OF WORK (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, April 6. The hearing of the industrial dis-. pute between the New Zealand Federated Coach and Motor Body Builders and Related Trades Industrial Association of Workers and the New Zealand Coach and Motor Body Builders’ Industrial Association of Employers was resumed in Conciliation Council in Wellington to-day. The deliberations chiefly centred op the interpretations of different classes of work in the industry and hours and wages. The' employers submitted a proposal that in all districts covered by the award the hours of work should be 40 a week. In Ashburton, Christchurch, Dannevirke, Eastbourne, Greymouth, Hastings, Lyttelton, Lower Hutt, Feilding, Masterton, Napier, Palmerston North, Petone, Rangiora, Sumner, Timaru, Wanganui, Wellington, and Westport the 40 hours should be worked on five days of the week between 7.30 a.m. and 5 p.m. In all other districts the 40 hours should be worked between 7.30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on five days of the week and between 7.30 a.m. and noon on Saturday, eight hours to constitute a day’s work. This was agreed to. The hearing will be resumed tomorrow.
