RAILWAY TRAFFIC AND REVENUE
HEAVY LOADINGS OF SHEEP RETURNS FOR CANTERBURY DISTRICT Any comparison of the revenue and tonnage returns in the Canterbury railway district for the fourweekly period ended March 31 with the corresponding period of 1937 is made difficult, because last year the figures covered the Easter traffic J and the period was also of four weeks and four days, a week longer than the period over which the last I figures were compiled. The passengers, goods, and stock handled by the department for the periods were:—
