MAGISTRATE'S COURT

FRIDAY (Before Mr E. C. Lewey, S.M.) - PLEA OF GUILTY Edmund Kearin, a gardener, aged 76, of the Nazareth Home, was charged with wilfully and obscenely, exposing his person in a public place. He pleaded guilty. Senior-Sergeant P. C. Felton said the case of accused seemed to be one of senile decay. Accused. was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called on within three years, on the special condition that he -remains in the Tuarangi Home, Ashburton, for that period. ~~ TRAFFIC OFFENCES

The following penalties were imposed for breaches of the traffic regulations, payment of costs being ordered in each case:—

Cycling without a light: Edward Boland, 10s; Myrtle Bowers, convicted and discharged; James McLaren Christie, 10s; Reginald Hawe Clark, 10s; William Duggan, 10s; Denzil Miller, costs only; Colin McGuire, convicted and discharged: Arthur Rogers,' 10s; Thomas Southam, costs only; Leslie Edward Topp, costs only. No warrant of fitness: Basil Raymond Cottrell, ss. Parking on off-side Of another car: Basil Raymond Cottrell, 205..' Insufficient lights: Alfred . James Mills, 10s; Ralph Carson Dunn, 10s. No white mudguard on., cycle: Patrick Michael McKendry, ;10s- (no reflector, costs only). Failing to give way oh cycle: Margaret Ryan, costs only. Cycling on footpath: Thomas Southam, convicted and discharged; Clifford Yeatman, 10s; George Phillips convicted and discharged.. Wrong number plates:/ Donald Andrew Swanston, £2. . Careless cycling: . Leslie Edward Topp, costs only. No tail-light on lorry: Wilfred James Whiting, 5s (no warrant pf fitness, ss). Failure to give wray: : Raymond Francis Heese, 20s (no driver’s licence, ss). . Parked within intersection: Roy Guy Dawson, ss. Charges of careless driving and cutting a corner,, against Edmund Errol Claud Hyde (Mr C. S. Thomas) were dismissed.
