BROADBENT FOUND
LANDING ON BEACH
DISCOVERY BY QANTAS AEROPLANE

A Qarrtas aeroplane found HL R Broadbent, the Australian airman. on a beach 16 miles north-north-west of Waingapu. - The report was: “AH well.” • . An earlier message said that radio stations reported that Broadbent was seen on Wednesday at 9.15 pjxt. at Rambang. Yesterday at 12.15 an. he was seen at Waingapu, flying in. an easterly direction, and later returning in a westerly direction at 3.45 a.m. He was twice seen near Endeh.
Two naval and six military aeroplanes and a Government steamer were searching for him.
PILOT UNINJURED
DAMAGE TO MACHINE

SYDNEY, March 18.
Advice has been received that Broadbent was found uninjured on Torren Island, but his aeroplane was damaged. The chief damage appeared to be a bent airscrew. A Dutch official and a few natives were with him on the island. . His machine was on rising ground about 600 yards from the shore.
