Bradshaw (Waimate), who was the guest of Miss Woollcombe (Trafalgar street), has left for Christchurch!
Miss Dorothy Walton (Park lane) will leave to-day for a visit to England. Mrs Walton will accompany her to Wellington. Mr and Mrs R. C. Williams (Havelock North) arrived yesterday to stay with Mrs B. E. H. Tripp. WELCOME TO SECRETARY MISS P. HINDLE Miss Phyllis Hindle, who was recently appointed genei-al secretary of the Young Women's Christian Association, was officially welcomed last night by members of the various clubs of the association at the official opening for the year of the Latimer Club. Mrs F. M. Warren, president of the association, welcomed Miss Hindle on behalf of the board of directors, and Miss Catherine Diamond asked Miss Hindle to accept a bouquet of flowers from the clubs. Miss Hindle spoke briefly of the aims of the Association. A one-act play was presented by the Drama Club, and songs were sung by the glee clubs. Games and competitions were also enjoyed, and supper was served in the club room. ST. CUTH BERT'S GUILD OFFICERS ELECTED Mrs L. Brown was elected president of the Ladies* Guild of St. Cuthbert's Church,' Governor's Bay, at the first meeting for the year, held at Mrs Brown's home. Other officers appointed were -—Vice-presidents. Mesdames Greig and Harland and Miss Allen; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mrs J. Guffey. , ( ~ Votes of thanks were passed to all who had helped the guild during the >ear and a special vote of thanks was passed to Mr T. Radcliffe, who -had judged the flower competitions each month.
The competition for zinnias was won by Mrs Hall, and for asters, Miss Allen was first and Miss Wheeler second. Members brought mystery parcels to augment the funds. Mrs and Miss Allen were hostesses at the tea hour,
STUDENTS' REUNION
Students of the Divine Science Institute of New Zealand held their annual reunion at the Winter Garden. The president, Mrs Mary E. Simpson. C.5.8., in welcoming the students, remarked on the unity and goodwill that prevailed among them, and thanked them for their co-operation in bringing the movement to its present status, where its usefulness as a healing spiritualising force was recognised throughout the land. On behalf of the members, Mrs I. Atkinson presented Mrs Simpson with a cheque, in recognition of her unselfish labours for the uplifting of others. Mr A. McClure spoke of the sound financial position of the institute and the value of Divine Science. Mr T. Christie spoke encouragingly of future progress. Short addresses bearing testimony to the benefits derived through the teaching and practice of Divine Science were given by Mesdames I. Atkinson, M. Jakins, I. Jones, M. Boag. M Osmond. C. Thompson, E. Yardlcy, Misses J. Stevenson, S. Gillespie. M. Le Gros, Messrs T. Christie, A. McClure, W. Smith, and W. Lee. STOP AND READ THIS INFORMATION.
