ANNOUNCEMENT BY MINISTER (PBESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, March 4. A return issued by the Labour Department shows a decline of 13,700 in the unemployment figures, compared with those for February 13, 1937, said the Minister for Labour (the Hon. H. T. Armstrong) to-day, and a decline of 815 compared with the January figures. The figures are:—Registered but not on relief, 1004- on sustenance awaiting placement, 3502; on scheme No. 5 relief, 2735—a total of 7241.
