SOUTH CANTERBURY TOURNEY SOME FINALS CONCLUDED It was hoped to complete the South Canterbury Croquet Association’s tournament yesterday, but as some players had to participate In the finals of the open and women’s championships, it was found impossible to do so. Both these events are expected to be completed to-day. The presentation of trophies for all the other events took place in the afternoon, Mrs J. Macdonald, tournament manager for the Otago Association, performing the ceremony. The results were as follows: WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP First Life (semi-finals)— Mrs Halliday beat Mrs Bryant 26-12, Mrs Sargisson beat Mrs Kirk 26-23. Final: Mrs Sargisson beat Mrs Halliday 26-19. Second Life (semi-final) —Mrs Nottle beat Mrs Gilbert 26-10, Mrs Gabites beat Mrs Kirk 26-21. OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP Third Round—W. H. Kirk beat R. Waterhouse 26-10. HANDICAP SINGLES Final: Mrs McLeod beat Mr* Kirk 26-U.
