CHAMPION RINKS TOURNAMENT THE DRAW FOR SATURDAY The Christchurch Bowling Centre will make a start on Saturday with the champion of champions rinks competition. KAIAPOI WORKING MEN’S CLUB Playing for the Wylie Badges on Monday evening, the holders. lees beat J. D. Williams by 18 points to 17. The holders of the McKay Badges. Hart Coup, Jowers, Hirst (s), were beaten in a challenge match by Parnham, Brown, Hassall, Whyte (s), by 23 points to 16.

TOURNAMENT AT TIMARU OPENING DAY’S PLAY Because of overnight rain, play in the South Canterbury Women s Bowling Centre tournament, which was opened at Timaru yesterday, did not begin till 10.30 a.m., the greens being heavy. No fewer than 48 entries were received for the rinks competition, probably constituting a record for any such tournament in the Dominion. . , . To deal with so many rinks, the centre divided them into eight sections, play taking place on the Timaru, West End, Kia Toa, and Park greens, headquarters being at the Timaru green.
