SPORTS FIXTURES FOR TO-AY
APPEARANCE OF FAMOUS TENNIS CHAMPION
.. To-day's principal sports fixture is the appearance of the famous Australian tennis player, Adrian Quist, in exhibition games at Wilding Park. Qmst will meet C. Angas (Canterbury) m a singles match, and together with H. A. Barnett (Canterbury) will play Angas and H. Dymond (Canterbury) in doubles.
Only one senior cricket match will be played in the Canterbury Cricket Association's competitions to-day. This wll J £?, , the Same between Sydenham and Old Boys, at Lancaster Park, ■which will decide which team is run-ner-up in the senior championship. Suburban and women's cricket matches •will be continued.
A further series of head-of-the-river races, the pair-oar events, is the attraction for oarsmen.
The golfing,attractions will include the Avondale Club's opening day on the Avondale links.
