“HOITY-TOITY”
REVUE FOR THEATRE ROYAL The new Connors and Paul revue; “Hoity-Toity,” will begin a season of two weeks and four nights at the Theatre Royal to-night. The company is headed by Syd. Beck. Australia’s wholesome comedian (who returns alter four years). The rest of the company of 43 are all new to Dominion theatre-goers, who can look forward to a really excellent programme, replete with everything that goes to make a fast-moving comedy-burlesque show. With the exception of Syd Beck, the ballet and orchestra, the rest of the company is composed of overseas specialty acts, who have appeared with success in London. America, and on the Continent. This is a new departure for “Queenie” and Mike, as they are known to hundreds of thousands of patrons, and their initial venture has proved such a success in Australia that they are arranging for a constant supply of leading overseas vaudeville artists. The four K’s are young ladies who play on various instruments: piano-ac-cordions, saxophones, ’cello, violin, and piano. The gems of their repertoire are “Hungarian Rhapsody,” and “Deep River.” the pulsating rhythm of the latter being the highlight of their contribution.
