First-round matches in the European zone will be as follows: — France v. Holland; Poland v. Denmark; Italy v. Ireland, Czechoslovakia v. Jugoslavia; England v. Rumania. The winner of the match between France and Holland will pI3Y Monaco for the right to enter the second round. Nations drawing byes are matched as follows: — Germany v. Norway, Hungary v. New Zealand, Greece v. Switzerland, Austria v. Belgium. In the Pacific zone the first-round u.atches will be:— Japan v. Canada, Australia ▼. Mexico.
