IS THE PRESS FAIR?
TO THE EDITOR OF THR PRESS.. Sir,—ln answer to your correspondent who signs himself “P.M.C.E.,” I still maintain that up to the present, meetings of the Labour Party have been ignored. So as long as the press continues to publish one side only it cannot claim to be called fair. As for the insinuation that there will be no fairness of the press if Labour'is re-elected as the press will be State-controlled, that is as ridiculous a statement as the rantings of the Nationalists before the last election when they tried to hoodwink the country into believing that the banks would be closed and the people’s savings confiscated if Labour gained comrol. At the same time, I believe that some law is necessary to eliminate the misleading headlines, and Mr Savage and his Ministers are the men to introduce the necessary measures to safeguard the interests df the people and democracy.—Yours, etc..
