WOMEN’S DIVISION OF FARMERS’ UNION
■ ♦ HAREWOOD BRANCH The first meeting for the year of the Harewood branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers’ Union was held in the Highsted Road Hall. Mrs N. A. Fraser presided over a good attendance. Picnic arrangements were finalised. A “bring and buy” stall was held during the afternoon in aid of the Karitane extension fund. Mrs Cecil Wood outlined the work being done for mothers and babies at the hospital. Results of competitions held during the afternoon were;— Vase of flowers. Mrs W. Evans 1. Mesdames W. Hayton and J. King (equal) 2; single bloom. Mrs F. Price 1. Mrs W. Lynn 2. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames W. Moore, E. Smith, and Miss M. Townley.
