UNITY IN DEFENCE
NEW FRENCH COMMAND DECIDED
PARIS, January 21. France's latest move towards the unification of her defence forces is the unprecedented appointment of one commander for the army, navy, and air force. General M. G. GameJin, a former Chief of the Army General Staff, has been appointed to the new position. M. Daladier simultaneously becomes responsible for all three Defence Ministries.
General Gamelin would co-ordin-ate the three services in the event of war.
