SLIGHT IMPROVEMENT IN CONDITION

Thomas Hawtin, of Colombo street, who was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital on Wednesday suffering from injuries received in an affray at the corner of Moorhouse avenue and Madras street, was still on the seriously ill list last night, although there had been a slight improvement in his condition. Mr Hawtin suffered a serious wound in the throat when he was stabbed with a sheath knife.
