CHRISTCHURCH SEVENTH ON LIST Almost 35,000 positions have been found for men by the State Placement Service since April 1 of last year, according to the latest report. Of these. 1187 were filled during*the week ended January 15. up to which date the returns are compiled. The total number of 34,947 positions filled is made up of permanent 13,192, casual 13,081 and temporary 8674. The Christchurch figures are well behind those of the main cities, its total of 1532 placements being onlv seventh on the list. Several towns much smaller than Christchurch have larger totals. Auckland (6227) is by far the busiest centre, the other town's next in order being Wellington (4303) rjunedin (2884), and Wanganui (1835).
