GIFT FOR MISS JEAN BATTEN

♦ MR JORDAN PRESENTS AERO CLUBS’ TROPHY (PROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) LONDON. December 29. The trophy presented by the constituent clubs of the New Zealand Aero Club to Miss Jean Batten, in commemoration of her flight from England to the Dominion, was officially handed -to her by the High Commissioner (Mr W. The trophy is in the form of a silver globe surmounted by a replica in silver of Miss Batten’s aeroplane. Round the globe a silver band shows the route of her flight. It has a wooden base in which a clock is inset. Miss Batten was delighted with the trophy. “I think it’s exquisite,” she said. ‘‘The aeroplane is beautiful and -v is such fine workmanship.”
