MUSIC IN SUBURBAN SCHOOLS
ANNUAL CLASS COMPETITION RESULTS The Suburban School Music Classes’ annual competition, conducted by Miss Clarice Bell, was held on Monday evening, when there was a large and appreciative audience. The judge, Mr Claude Davies, congratulated Miss Bell and her assistants, Misses Phyllis Simpson and Eileen O’Keefe, on the pupils’ work. The following scholarships were awarded: — Three months’ private tuition free: Lynnette Maddren, Gladys Clark, Gordon Bibby, Rae Burley, Kathleen Besley. . Three months’ class tuition free; Laurel Williamson, Helen Grotty, Bruce McCrone, Marjory McKenzie, Sylvia Barker, Pamela Cocks, Pamela Bonney, Valerie Agar, Rona Walsh, Murray Barnett, Mary Broome, Patsy Birdling, Colin Cowie, Rae Radcliffe, Marion Bindley, Carol Cree, Mary Christie. Eunice Fenton, Edna Serra, Basil Kings, Byrrel Goode, Ngaire Holmes. Miss Bell was presented with a crvstal trinket box and a bouquet on behalf of the children by Lorna Cooper.
