POWER-BOAT RACES

NEW BRIGHTON CLUB'S MEETING On Saturday the second race of the series held by the New Brighton Powerboat Club was held on the Estuary course. Twelve boats faced the starter, and the racing was interesting, although the times registered by the speed boats were not as fast as on previous occasions. An outboard boat also competed. The results were as follows:—Kawaka (handicap 30min), 28min 30sec, 1; Verona (43min), 42min 15sec, 2; Shooting Star (lOmin 15sec), lOmin 45sec, 3; Electra 1 (9min 15sec), lOmin 45sec, 4. Some fast lap times were recorded amongst the speed boats, but the allowance given some of the slower boats was just a little too much for them to catch up. ________
