♦ TOTAL OF SEVENTY-SIX POINTS TO SATURDAY The rain which fell in the Ashburton district from Thursday afternoon to Saturday will prove beneficial to crops in the district and gardens in the town. A total of 76 points was recorded at the Ashburton Domain weather station up to 9 a.m. on Saturday.
