DINNER PARTY

GATHERING AT "HOLLY LEA" I ARTISTIC DECORATIONS The large reception rooms at "Holly Lea," always stately and dignified, looked their best last evening, when they were specially decorated for the annual dinner-party, held in memory of the founder, Mr McLean. The wide central staircase was banked with lovely azaleas, cinerarias, and cyclamen, the drawing-room was bright with red rhododendrons and camellias, and. in the dining-room, Iceland poppies and spring flowers artistically arranged formed an effective note of colour. For the entertainment of the guests music was played by an orchestra comprising Misses Mina Ward, Thelma Cusack, Marjorie Chapman, and Florence Nolan, songs were sung by Miss Ailsa Crompton and Miss Jean Sinclair, for whom Mrs J. H. Cocks played the accompaniments, -and a short, amusing play was presented by Misses M. Enright. N. Enright. and B. Griffiths. Those present were the ladies of "Holly Lea," and of "Quamby," the Mayor, Mr J. W. Beanland. and Mrs Beanland. Mr and Mrs H. D. Acland, Mr and Mrs C. T. Aschman. the Rev. Clarence Eaton and Mrs Eaton, the Rev. J. Lawson Robinson and Mrs Robinson. Mr and Mrs T. J. Maling. Mr and Mrs H. A. Young. Mrs W. S. I Bean, and Miss Mollie Bean. Mrs J. Cracroft Wilson. Mr and Mrs W. F. | Hilson. Mr and Mrs J. G. Collins. Dr. *nd Mrs J. F. Duncan, the Town Clerk. Mr J. S. Neville, Miss Gwen Andrews, Mr and Mrs L. D. Cotterill. Mr and Mrs S. W. Jameson, Misses A. M.
