COUNCIL OF SPORT

LEGISLATION APPROVED BY GOVERNMENT [From Our Parliamentary Reporter.] WELLINGTON, September 14. Legislation establishing a New Zealand Council of Sport and Recreation was approved by the Government to-day, according to a statement made this evening by the Minister for Internal Affairs (the Hon. W. E. Parry). He said that a bill embodying the proposal would now be prepared for submission to Parliament. Mr Parry also announced that the Government had approved one or two amendments to the Invalidity Pensions Act for introduction this session. This legislation would extend relief in a particular class of case which the Government considered should be met.
