WRESTLING
CHRISTY BEATS WESTCOATT (rKESS ASSOCIATION TELEGajJi.) AUCKLAND, September 13. Aroused by the rough tactics used by "Rusty" W«stcoatt, the crowd roared its approval when Vic Christy, after a violent exchange o£ headlock throws, dumps, dropkieks, and jolts, pressed his opponent's shoulders to the mat for the deciding fall in a professional heavy-weight wrestling contest. The bout was a lively one. The first fall went to Christy in the third round. After being jolted and kicked in the face while imprisoned iu a headlock, he became thoroughly nettled, rushed Westcoatt, and with powerful forearm punches, paved the way for a fall with a press. Wescoatt, in the fourth round, dazed Christy with jolts, dumps, and a dropkick before taking an equalising fall. BIG BOUT TO-MORROW NXGHT The Christchurch wrestling public will have an opportunity to-morrow night of seeing in action a new star in the person of Norman ("Rusty") Westcoatt, who is to be opposed by Frank Judson, of Massachusetts. Westcoatt, whose tour of the Dominion has been eagerly waited since it was announced early in the season that he was on his way to Australia, is the idol of the fans in Hawaii, where he has been regarded as the champion for some time. He has beaten men like "Man Mountain" Dean, Al Karasick, and others with worldfamous names, keeping his displays on a consistently high level. In Judson he will be meeting a man who has the proverbial "thousand holds," and who also knows how to use them. Wrist locks figure largely in Judson's offensive equipment, but he has plenty of other measures to call upon, and also carries a highly effective elbow jolt.
