ALBANS CLUB ANNUAL MEETING HELD At the meeting of club delegates, the representatives from the St. Albans Club will strongly oppose the suggestion to play one-day cricket in Christchurch. This decision was made at the annual meeting of the club last ingThe report and balance-sheet were adopted. The report showed that the club was in a sound financial position. Two members of the club, F. P. O'Brien, and E. T. Mulcock. had gained representative honours. J. G. Rankin, another member of the club, had represented New Zealand at Rugby football. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President. Mr C. S. Thompson; vice-presidents, Messrs H. Holland, S. G. Holland, R. E. McDougall, A. W. Thomas, A. E. McPhail. and W. F. Blackwell; club captain, Mr R. H. North; deputy-club cantain, Mr C. G. Crawford; honorary secretary and treasurer, Mr T. R. Pope; assistant secretary. Mr T. A. Tucker; honorary auditor, Mr L. C. Crawford, and T. R. Pope. RICCARTON CLUB'S FINANCES ELECTION OF OFFICERS While it was regrettable that last year had not shown such an improvement as previous years had done, the financial position of the club,, in view of the comparatively small membership, was satisfactory, said Mr E. R. Caygill, in presiding at the annual meeting of the Riccarton Cricket Club last evening: A net profit of £9 18s 4d had been shown in the statement of income and expenditure for the year ended August 31. The principal expenditure items were £6O for ground rent and £3O for depreciation of materials. For income, £B2 had been received from subscriptions. In urging members to co-operate with the committeee, Mr Caygill appealed for increased membership. "We've only four teams and it is very hard to make the club strong," he said, adding that each member should encourage others to join, thus giving the club a help. Mr J. Jacobs, in supporting Mr Caygill's appeal, said that five or six years ago the club had had a very hard struggle to keep going; but now, with more money * about, the members should be able to help. The annual report congratulated Mr A. W. Roberts on being the first member of the club to be selected to represent New Zealand overseas. Three club centuries had been scored in the season, J. Jacobs 165 against Old Collegians and 100 against Sydenham, and G. Roberts 104 against Old Boys. Officers elected for the ensuing year were:—Patron, Mr H. S. S. Kyle, M.P.; president. Mr F. M. Warren; vice-pre-sidents, Messrs E. R. Caygill, F. W. Powell, H. B. Whitta, E. E. Boulton; club captain, Mr J. Jacobs; hon. treasurer, Mr G. H. Stringer; hon. secretary, Mr W. M.
