ROAD PATROL FOR WEST COAST

♦ A road patrol officer will almost certainly be stationed on the West Coast for four months of the busy season, from November to February, according to a statement made by Mr L. M. Wilson, president of the Canterbury Automobile Association, when speaking at the annual meeting of the Westport branch of the association on Friday night. Mr Wilson said he had yet to obtain the approval of the executive for this proposal, but he was sure it would be carried. The officer would be able to assist in obtaining new members, and would be available in the district to do that and other work when the bulk of the visitors were travelling on the West Coast roads.
