N.Z. SKIERS IN AUSTRALIA

* SLALOM PRACTICE ON MOUNT KOSCIUSKO (Received September 10, X a.m.) SYDNEY, September 9. The New Zealand skiers at Mount Kosciusko spent the day in slalom practice in the region of Pulpit Rock and Trapyard Creek, and also in doing a haka for newsreel photographers. Their smart black and white uniforms and Austrian hats were greatly admired. The langlauf was held this morning over a 10-mile course. A warm wirfd was blowing and the spring snow was soft and slow. The competitors were timed at the half-way mark by short-wave wireless. There were seven entries, six of which were from New South Wales and the other from Tasmania. Victoria did not enter. New South Wales won the interstate match, the result being; F. Kaaten, 1 hour 29 minutes 39 seconds. 1; K. Breakspear, 1 hour 33 minutes 3 seconds, 2; S. Grace 3; W. Pattinson 4; L. Bligh, 5. If possible the Australian championships will begin to-morrow.
