CLYDESDALES BRING GOOD PRICES
DISPERSAL OF OVERDALE STUD The high price of 400 guineas was paid for the three-year-old Clydesdale mare Peggy Castle at the dispersal sale of Mr W. J. Doak’s stud at Overdale, near Rakaia, yesterday. Buyers were present from many parts of New Zealand, and of 17 Clydesdales offered, 15 were sold, the top" price being offered by Wright, Stephenson and Company, Ltd., the firm which conducted the sale, on behalf of a South Island client. The next best price was 300 guineas given by Mr Arthur J. Doak, of Wakanui, for the imported mare Peg o’ Limavady. The sales were as follows: Mare, seven years. Doak (Wakanui); mare, three years, Peggy Castle, by Douglas Castle—P eg o' Limavady, at 400gns, to South Island client; mare, 11 years, Rowena Ronald, by Dunure Fabric—Peggy Ronald, at 52gns. to G. Campbell (Rakaia); mare, 13* years, Delicia, by Eddiewood Topline—Rowena Ronald, at 67Jgns, to Quigley brothers (Hawarden); mare, four years. Miss Print, by Flashness—Rowena Ronald, at 41gns, to G. Morris (Rakaia); mare, three years, Lady Rowena, by McQuaid of Ochtertyre—Rowena Ronald, at 54gns, to H. Doak (Seafield); mare, seven years, Delicia 11, by Brunstane Duplicate—Delicia, at 75gns, to J. H. Muirhead (Lagmhor); mare, nine years. Lady Ella 11, by Archaic—Bonny Ella, at 46gns, to F. Willis Croft (Reefton); mare, 15 years. Lady Queen, by Dunure Fabric—Lady Macgregor, at 45gns, to A.
