DISPLAY IN BOOKING HALL EXHIBITION IN LONDON PRAISED ATTRACTIONS, INDUSTRIES. AND PRODUCE ILLUSTRATED (VBOH OL'B OWI COBBKSPOHUCKT.t LONDON. August 18. It is the policy of the London Passenger Transport Board to offer for exhibition purposes a large site in the Charing Cross District Railway booking hall, so that attractive and educational exhibits may be displayed. New Zealand has set up an artistic and comprehensive exhibit there under the direction of the High Commissioner (Mr W. J. Jordan). It is said io be one of the best of the 80 or more that have occupied this vantage. There are large dioramas round the semi-circular back bass depicting sheep and dairy farming, trout fishing, the thermal regions, Waitomo Caves, and a camping holiday. On the walls are many fine coloured photographs sent by the New Zealand Government Tourist and Publicity Department. Wellington. In front of the whole exhibit are two large cabinets showing more than 40 illuminated transparent coloured Now Zealand scenes. In the centre of the exhibit is the New Zealand Meat Board’s ornate refrigerated cabinet, displaying frozen New Zealand lamb carcases. Appropriate wording is displayed to advantage. For instance, visitors read: “New Zealand’s Place in World Trade; The World’s Leading Exporter of Lamb and Mutton; the World’s Leading Exporter of Dairy Produce; the World’s Second Greatest Exporter of Wool”; New Zealand’s Place in Empire Trade; Britain’s Greatest Supplier of Lamb and Mutton; Britain’s Leading Supplier of Butter and Cheese; 74 per cent, of New Zealand's Imports are from the British Empire.” Tourist attractions, including trout and stags’ heads, dominate the space. People are advised to spend their next winter in the sunny climes of New Zealand. and to make inquiries of the Government information officer in charge. New Zealand’s products include, honey, apples, passion fruit, kauri gum. sheep pelts dressed, tinned lamb, beef, and calf tongues, other tinned goods, loheroa soup, casein, minerals, and the various packs of butter as they are sold in Britain, including the vacuum-packed butter and cheese.
