"I do not believe that there is a man, woman, or child who is not interested in art in some way or other," declared Mr Tom Garrett, the well-known Australian artist, when speaking to members of the Wanganui Rotary Club. "That is to say we all react to beauty in some way or other. If we do not do so why do we bother about the colour of our ties and our socks? Why do we worry about the appearance of our houses or the style of our cars? We are all more or less potential artists."
