CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION
ELECTION OF OFFICERS
Two clubs, South Brighton and Woodend, were granted affiliation at the annual meeting of the Canterbury Croquet Assosiation held recently. The annual report and balance-sheet showed that the season had been a most satisfactory one. Record entries had been received for the annual tournament and for various inter-club competitions. It was decided to purchase a silver cup to be presented to the winner of the E. J. Jtoss Memorial Handicap at the Christmas tournament as a tribute to the memory of Mr E. J. Ross. Officers were elected as follows; President, Mr A. G. F. Ross; vice-presidents, Mesdames J. Beanland. G. Smithson, R. Moore, Miss R. Gerard, Messrs G. Richardson, S. McCullough, P. Grant, H. A. Penn; secretary and treasurer, Mrs J. P. Maddren; referee, Mr Ross; handicapper, Mrs Maddren; auditor. Mr M. SommerVllle; gazette correspondent, Mr Penn; tournament commieee, Mesdames Beanland. Lennie, Lee, Miss McMillan, Messrs A, C. Murray, Richardson, H. Nettleton, Penn; tournament manager, Mrs Maddren; assistant manager. Mr Richardson.
