ELECTION OF OFFICERS AT ANNUAL MEETING
The annual meeting of tli3 Dunsandel Bowling Club was held in the Dunsandel Hali on Thursday evening, mx A. J. Sheat (vice-president) presided. The report and balance-sheet stated that the season had been a successful cne. On? resignation was received and one new member was elected. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patrons, Messrs Jn. Boag. G W Xime, and A. Macpherson. president, Mr A. J. vice-presi-dent, Mr F. Chamberlain; honorary secretary and treasurer, Mr It. A. Erown; deleft- to Christchurcn Centre. Mr E. W. Taylor; selection committee Messrs F. Chamberlain. H. W. Johnson, and H. A. Brown, green suoerintendent. Mr F. Chamberlain; delegates to Ellesmere Bowling Messrs E. J. Chattrrton. H. A. Brown, and F. Chamberlain; general committee, Messrs W. N. Walker, N. J. Brown, E. J. Chatterton, H. W. Johnson, J. H. Tyler. J. H. Skinner. D. Eddy, and M. McGregor; refreshment committee, Messrs J. H. Tyler and W. N. Walker; transoort ccmmittee. Messrs E. J. Chattrrton and J. H. Skinner; auditor, Mr iE Owers; caretaker, Mr F. Bishop. The follor ing were elected a subcommittee to consider a watering system on the green: Messrs A. J. Sheat. F. Chamberlain, H. A. Brown, N. JBrown, J. Boag, and E. J. Chatterton. Mr A. Mcßae was elected a life member of the club. Rainfall for Jane
The rainfall at Dunsandel for the month of June, recorded by Mr C. AWright, was 3.25 inches, compared with 95 points last year. Ram fell on eight days. The total fall for the six months ending June 30 is inches, compared with 24.15 inches for the same period last year.
GOLF
HORORATA CLUB
The Ladies' Golf Union monthly medal match, played on (he Hororata terrace station links on Saturday was won by Mrs E. H. Simes. The medal match for non-handicap players was won by Mrs J. Ballagk. In the final of the captain s trophy on Saturday R. Murray beat W. Stone, 6 up and 4.
DUNSANDEL CLUB
The second round of tho presidents trophy competition was played on Saturday afternoon. A stroke match was also played. The following were the best results. President's trophy—R. Chatterton, 74 first round, 64 second round, 138 total; K Skurr, 70, 72—142; R. Wright, 71. 72—143; T. Tweedy, 75, 74—149; H Cain, 75, 76—151; J. Chatterton, 71. 81—152. Stroke match—M. Brown, 83 gross. £0 handicap, 63 net; R. Chatterton, 82. 18—64; W. Gardiner. 94, 23—71; J Chatterton, 91. 20—71; R. Wright. 85. 13—72; K. Skurr, 85, 13—72.
ISLINGTON VILLAGE GREEN CLUB
The first inter-club match for the season, at the Islington Village Green Golf Club, was played during the week-end against the Templeton Country Club. The Islington Village Green Club won by 5 games to 1. The following were the results (Templeton players first):—A. L. Smith lost to G Day, V. Sheehy lost to R. Riddell. A. Fairbairn lost to A. Standeven, R. E. Soicer beat L. McGarry, C. Fairbairn lest to N. Forrester. L. G. Petrie lost to R. Allen. R. E. Spicer won a medal for the best gross score of 79. the next best cards returned being: R. Allen 81, N Forrester 82, L. G. Petrie 83. C. Fairbairn 88, L. McGarry 89.
