AWARDS IN CAT SECTION

FINAL JUDGING AT BANGIOBA

Judging at the North Canterbury Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Club's annual show at Rangiora was finished on Saturday morning, when awards in the cat section were announced. The premier award was the South Island championship for smoke, blue, or black Persian male, more than eight months. This went to Mrs T. Lewis.

Although entries for this year's show did not reach the total received last year, the display was a good one, and attracted a satisfactory attendance of the public both on Friday and on Saturday. Arrangements were made by *he committee under the president (Mr S. G. Brister) and the secretary (Mr D. M. Thorn).

The winner of the Biggs memorial cup for the best Persian male more than eight months was Mrs E. Daley. The R. W. Thompson cup for most Eoints in the canary section was won y Mrs G, Hobbs.

Results of the final judging were as follows: —

Lewis 1. Same, female (1): Mrs T. Lewis 1. Neuter Persian, any other colour (1): Mrs R. O. Bowman 1. Short-haired cats—Light tabby (1): Mrs R O. Bowman 1. Pure black (1): Miss N. Fraser 1. Manx (1): K. Murfitt 1.
