July 4. 1 After an impressive service in the chapel at Church Army headquarters the first mission motor-caravan for use in the Auckland Diocese was dedicated by the Primate of New Zealand, the Most Rev. A. W. Averill. Before the dedication of the caravan three trainees, Captains A. Dewer (Masterton), G. Taylor (Auckland), and F. Day (Christchurch) received their papers and licences of commission from the Archbishop "in the name of God and the Church Army." " 'Quietness and confidence,' words which have been revolving round my mind to-day. are the words most appropriate for this very interesting and touching occasion." said the Archbishop. "We are here," he added, "to ask God's blessing on this new development of Church Army work in the Diocese of Auckland. These caravans are an integral part of the work of the Church Army and there are numbers of them in England and the Dominions." The caravan, which will snend two years in northern parts of! the diocese, was taken to St. Jude's. | Avondale, for the week-end and will j leave for Warkworth to-morrow.
