RENT OF CRICKET GROUND

ACTION BY DOMAINS BOARD

LEVY ON CHKIST'S COLLEGE RAISED

A resolution to increase the rent of the Christ's College cricket ground in South Hagley Park from £SO to £ 100 per annum, forwarded by the finance committee, was passed by the monthly meeting of the Christchurch Domains Board yesterday afternoon. The increased lent 'was considered to have come into force on May 1. 1937. The report was presented by the chairman cf the finance committee, Mr M. E. Lyons. "Have the Christ's College authorities been advised?" asked Mr A. H. Shrubsha.il.

"Not yet," replied Mr Lyons. "As I see it, it is a matter for the board to decide and to take the first action."

"They were expecting it, though?" asked another member.

"Yes, for some little time, I think," said Mr Lyons, and the discussion then lapsed.
