BOOKSELLER FINED ON TWO CHARGES

(«ESS ASSOCIATION MI.MEA*.) WELLINGTON, July 2. Morris Edward Lehany. a bookseller, was fined £lO and was ordered to pay costs in the Magistrate's Court on a charge of exhibiting an indecent document (a magazine), and he was fined £5 and was ordered to pay costs on a charge of selling an indecent document. A reserved decision was given in the case .last Friday. Counsel for Lehany said that the bookseller in these cases was usually the innocent party. He was more so in this case, as publications of the nature mentioned in the charge had leng been sold in the countiy. He made that statement because it was not intended to appeal.
