FINDING WORK FOR UNEMPLOYED
WAIRARAPA LOCAL BODIES MAKE ARRANGEMENTS
(miss ASSOCIATION TILraCAMj MASTERTON, July 2. As a result of a conference between the Acting-Minister for Employment (the Hon. P. C. Webb) and district local bodies to-day, arrangements were concluded for full-time employment for 169 men for short periods averaging about four months. A few works which would provide employment for still more men cannot be concluded until further discussions have taken place with officers of other departments. . . The Minister emphasised the importance of co-operation between the Government and local bodies. He stated that they had reached the stage when everv able-bodied unemployed man in the Wairarapa district would be found work during the winter months.
