CAVALRY COURSE AT SYDNEY

THREE NEW ZEALANDERS TO BE TRAINED

WELLINGTON, July 2. The names of three non-commis-sioned officers of the regular forces selected to undergo a three months' cavalry course at Randwick, Sydney were announced to-night by the Minister for Defence (the Hon. F Jones). They are Sergeant C. i. Rudd, R.N.Z.A. (Christchurch) Serjeant W. E. Bradley, R.N.Z.A. who is at present undergoing a course of instruction at the Trentham military camp, and Bombardier G. H. Martin, R.N.Z.A. (Wellington). They are to leave Wellington for Sydney by the Wanganella next Thursday. These non-commissioned officers will be posted as instructors with mounted rifle regiments on their return to New Zealand. The course begins on July 15. It was pointed out by Mr Jones that this course was particularly opportune, as there were no means of training mounted instructors with the limited facilities in New Zealand.
