COMMENTARY IN MANY LANGUAGES

(BRITISH OFTICIAL WIRELESS.) (Received April 30, 8.30 p.m.) RUGBY, April 29. The Post Office has made elaborate arrangements to carry the Coronation broadcasts from London to 12 different countries in Europe, and by radio telephone transmissions through the international telephone, exchange to the greater part of the Empire and to North .and South America. \ The broadcast is being taken to Sweden,. Norway, Denmark, Germany, Holland, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Jugoslavia, and Hungary. The commentators engaged in these broadcasts will speak in the language of the country to which they are broadcasting. The Post Office is arranging special lines for them, and 10 observation boxes have been made available overlooking the entrance to Westminster Abbey, and four in Green Park, connected by Post Office lines to a specially constructed control room in the Middlesex Guildhall. The total wire mileage involved is approximately 50,000, and at least 150 amplifiers will be required in order that the volume of transmission over submarine cables and land lines may be maintained at a satisfactory level. The Coronation Service in the Abbey will be picked up and transmitted over these special circuits.

ACCELERATION OF CUSTOMS EXAMINATION (Received April 30, 5.5 p.m.) ***" LONDON, April 29. The Government, in order to accelerate the landing of passengers from the Queen Mary two days before the Coronation, has introduced an innovation providing for the examination of passports of the 2000 passengers during the voyage from America instead of at Southampton.

A HUNDRED PEERS AT REHEARSAL

(BBITIBB OFFICIAL WIRELESS.) RUGBY, April 29. More than 100 peers attended a Coronation rehearsal at Westminster Abbey this morning. They included some of the Great Officers of State who will carry the Queen's Regalia.
