KEEPING COMMON GAMING HOUSE
MAGISTRATE WARNS SECOND
OFFENDER
William Geoffrey Snook, aged|3o vears, pleaded guilty in the Magistrate's Court yesterday morning to using premises at 143 Opawa road as a common gaming house, and was fined £35 and ordered to pay costs. Snook, who had been before the court in January, 1933 for a similar offence, was warned by the trate (Mr E. C. Levvey S.M.) that il he were caught again he would n« be given the chance of paying a nne. Detective J. McClung said that with Detective M. R. he had vis ited the premises, and had iouna Snook taking bets over the telephone and there was betting paraphernalia in the room. ~ 75 Snook had been arrested at 1IJ» a.m. that day, and the court was reopened to hear the case.
