"VERY INTERESTING TIME”
—. — * MR SULLIVAN’S IMPRESSIONS OF CONGRESS (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, January 13. “The arrangements made for the initial ceremony at the Town Hall were excellent,” said the Minister in charge of the Scientific and Industrial Research Department (the Hon. D. G. Sullivan), before leaving Auckland, after attending the official opening of the biennial meeting of the Australian and New Zealand Association for the Advancement of Science. Mr Sullivan said he had had a very interesting time meeting scientists and others, and discussing various matters with them. "I have had many interesting conversations, indeed, and have definitely benefited by my visit,” said Mr Sullivan. As Minister for Railways, Mr Sullivan spent a considerable time to-day inspecting dangarous He later visited the factories of the Colonial Ammunition Company, Ltd., and Ambler and Company, Ltd., discussing various matters affecting manufacturers with Mr F. N. Arhbler, president of the Auckland Manufacturers’ Association. Time did not permit of a proposed visit to the science congress, where Mr Sullivan was to have heard an address by Professor T. Hytten. Mr Sullivan left for Wellington by this afternoon’s express.
