BUILDING OF POLAR SUBMARINE
VESSEL TO BE READY BY JULY (Received January 13, 2 a.m.) LONDON, January 12. Sir Hubert Wilkins has. submitted to Vickers, Ltd., plans for a 74-foot polar submarine. It is a "steel pencil, sharpened at both ends." False detachable noses will be fitted to the sharp ends for the passage to the Pole. The company is unable to guarantee delivery before July 1, when Sir Hubert hopes to sail for Spitzbergen.
