FIFTEEN DROWNED AT SEA
TRAWLERS LOST OFF BRITISH COASTS (BRITISH OFFICIAL WIRKLKSH.) RUGBY, January 11. Seven members of the crew of 20 of the French steam trawler Notre Dame de Lourdes, of 375 tons, were drowned when the ship came into collision with the British steamer Theemes, of 553 tons, in the Channel off the North Foreland. The survivors, who were rescued by the Theemes. were brought to London last night. The 271-ton Fleetwood trawler San Sebastian struck the Reef of Islay, in the Inner Hebrides, and foundered with the loss of four lives. Nine were saved. The week-end loss of life at sea off the British coasts was further increased when four fishermen of the Belgian trawler Vierge Marie of Ostend. which was wrecked on the rocks off Penzance during a fog, were drowned, the other two members of the crew being rescued by rocket apparatus.
