M. TROTSKY IN MEXICO

♦ FEARS OF APPROACHING WAR (Received January 11, 1.30 a.m.) TEMPICO, January 11. M. Leon Trotsky, who was recently ordered to leave Norway, has arrived in Mexico. He will go to the Mexico City home of the artist, Diego Rivera. He made a long statement, claiming that he had ample proof of perverted methods being used in the Moscow trial to extort the so-called "voluntary confessions." He approved of the proposal that an international commission should investigate the trial. Europe was torn in pieces by the presentiment of a new war, he said. There was a 75 per cent, chance of war in the not distant future. M. Trotsky pledged himself not to intervene in Mexico politics. He expects to finish his biography of Lennin in 1937.
